Denver East High School Team Finishes Third In National "We The People: The Citizen And The Constitution" Competition

Congratulations to the Denver East High Angels for achieving 3rd Place in the "We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" national high school competition in Washington, D.C. All 50 states and the District of Columbia sent teams. The East High School Angels were one of the ten teams that competed on Capitol Hill in the Russell Senate Office Building, finishing third. The 30-member team was led by coach and teacher Edna Sutton.

More than 1,250 students from high schools across the country tested their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights as they competed in the 19th annual competition.

The "We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" program has reached more than 28 million students during its 19-year history. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the Center for Civic Education in Los Angeles. For more information, visit www.civiced.org.
