Shafroth Extemporaneous Speaking Contest Is Tuesday, April 11

Denver Public Schools Shafroth Extemporaneous Speaking Contest will be held Tuesday, April 11 at Montbello High School.

In its 83rd year, the contest is open to high school students in Denver Public Schools. The Shafroth prize for Extemporaneous Speaking was established in January of 1921 through a gift to Denver Public Schools from the honorable John F. Shafroth, Governor of Colorado from 1901 to 1913. Each Denver high school is invited to send one male and one female student to speak on local, national, international or philosophical issues. Two champions are each awarded a medal and a gift certificate. Community members are welcome to attend.
