Bradley International School Is "Wild About Books!" - Young Authors Conference And Family Literacy Night Is Thursday, April 20
Bradley International School's Family Literacy Night on Thursday, April 20 will begin at 6 p.m. with 9 News anchor Kyle Dyer reading "Wild About Books" by Judy Sierra.
The evening will include a wide variety of displays, activities, and contests for families to enjoy. Several organizations will offer loads of information on encouraging kids to read including The Denver Public Library, The Denver Newspaper Agency, Rocky Mountain PBS, and Target. The Denver Zoo will also be on hand for this "wild" night with live animals! Even Clifford the Big Red Dog will attend.
The students' Young Authors books will be on display and kids will have a chance to read their book on stage. Also, don't miss the Scholastic "Buy One Get One Free" Book Fair. Parents, students and community members can choose from a huge selection of books, computer software, school supplies, and much more. Families can also enjoy many hands-on activities including making a bookmark, making animal masks, MadLibs, the Name Game, and coloring. Check out the "Read Around the World" display of our many Million Word readers and see where they have traveled throughout the school year.
Bradley International School, located at 3051 South Elm Street in Southeast Denver, is the first DPS elementary school to implement the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) to students in ECE through fifth grade. The IB PYP is an international curriculum that focuses on the student's social, physical, emotional, and cultural development in addition to academic growth.
