Superintendent Michael Bennet Announces Resignation Of Mark Stevens, Director Of Communications
Superintendent Michael Bennet today announced the resignation of Mark Stevens, Director of Communications, who has accepted the position of Director of Communications and Community Relations in Weld County District 6, serving Greeley and Evans, Colorado.
"The opportunity to serve in an expanded role alongside Superintendent Renae Dreier in Greeley is too tempting to pass up," said Stevens. "I've had the pleasure of working with many dedicated and talented education leaders, including five superintendents. I look forward to applying what I've learned here to the task ahead in Greeley, where there is no less pressure to improve student achievement."
Stevens will continue in his current role in Denver for at least several weeks. Bennet will conduct a search to find a replacement.
"On behalf of the Denver Public Schools family, I want to thank Mark for over 10 years of service to DPS and our kids," said Bennet. "His service has been tireless, selfless and greatly admired by everyone associated with the district. I wish him luck in his new post. Our loss is Greeley's gain."
