Retired Employees To Honor 10 Students With $3,000 Scholarships; Luncheon Event Is Saturday, April 15
Ten DPS students have each been awarded a $5,000 scholarship from DPS Retired Employees' (DPSRE) Scholarship Foundation. A luncheon at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 in the Conifer Room of the Marriott Southeast (I-25 and Hampden Ave.) will honor the recipients.
This is the eleventh year of this ongoing project by the DPS Retired Employees' Scholarship Foundation, which was created to benefit outstanding graduates of DPS and to demonstrate the continuing interest of DPS retirees in the school system. Scholarship recipients are eligible to apply for renewal of their scholarships for three additional years of support with tuition for higher education.
The recipients, all high school seniors, are: Kelsey Bergfelder, Katherine Petcoff and James Tucker (all from South High School); Candace Churinsky (Thomas Jefferson High School); Lincoln Collins and Emma Crow-Willard (both from George Washington High School); Sara Joyce (John F. Kennedy High School); Zachary Montez (West High School); Nga Nguyen (Abraham Lincoln High School); and Jesse Wall (East High School).
