Six massive Percheron horses from the 2006 Rocky Mountain Horse Expo will high-step a sense of history on Thursday, March 9 at Garden Place Academy and Swansea Elementary School.

The hitch will leave the National Western Complex and travel to Garden Place Academy, arriving at 10 a.m. to the delight of the kindergarten, first- and second-grade students. Next, the hitch will rumble down the road to Swansea Elementary School for a 1 p.m. appearance and show for the students.

The Percheron horses stand over six feet tall and weigh 2,000 lbs. Harnessed together, the horses gallop, reverse and turn on a dime in a thrilling demonstration of the true meaning of horsepower.
