Barnum Elementary School Hosts "Señor Gato" Wednesday, March 8

Barnum Elementary School will host Señor Gato, a group that represents the rich heritage of Latin American and Caribbean music, on Wednesday, March 8 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

In addition, all students in the school will have a piece displayed in an art show throughout the school. Refreshments will be served.

Both educational and entertaining, Señor Gato presents each song as a tribute to a particular country or style, ranging from Cuban songs to Brazilian samba to bolero from Mexico. Band leader/percussionist Dan Egger-Belandria addresses the audience in Spanish and English to help bridge the connection among the Americas while integrating volunteer students into the performance. Instrumentation includes percussion, piano, bass, and saxophone.

Barnum Elementary School is located at 85 Hooker St. The school's telephone number is 303-935-3509.
