Denver's 7 has partnered with CollegeInvest and Denver Public Schools (DPS) to renovate two DPS classrooms. An internal committee was established by DPS to determine which schools would benefit most from a makeover. Based on that committee's findings, Montbello High School was selected to receive the first classroom makeover.

Construction to renovate the computer lab at Montbello High School began on March 17, 2006. Since then the original room was completely gutted, drywall installed and the room rewired for new technology. Paint, carpet, workstations, computers and a SMART Board have also been added. A design team of local contractors and architects was formed to facilitate the makeover.

CollgeInvest, a not-for-profit division of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, is the presenting sponsor of the 7 Classroom Makeover program. The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) is also partnering with the project under their new program, Advancing Colorado. Additionally, Hewlett-Packard donated 33 computers, flat screen monitors and a server, Logisens and the Microsoft Corporation provided software to the project, and CCS Presentation Systems donated a SMART Board. The estimated value from all the contributing sponsors and partners exceeds $100,000.
