Maria Mitchell ECE - 6 School To Celebrate "Dr. Seuss Day" Thursday, March 16

On Thursday, March 16 the hallways and classrooms at Maria Mitchell ECE - 6 School will be buzzing with students engaged in physical activities, arts, crafts and computer work as they navigate their way through 17 stations, all based on books written by Dr. Seuss.

The event will be the 2nd Annual Dr. Seuss Day at Mitchell. Dr. Seuss's birthday is on March 2nd but the staff at Mitchell decided to wait to have their celebration on the 16th because it is the last day for students before spring break and so as not to conflict with CSAP (Colorado Student Assessment Program) testing.

The purpose of the Dr. Seuss Day at Mitchell is to celebrate the joy of good books, the joy of physical activity, to celebrate the great work that has gone on at Mitchell so far this year, and to celebrate the wonderful works of Dr. Seuss.

Dr. Seuss Day will run from 8:25 - 11:15 a.m. Visitors are welcome to join the school in learning and fun. Feel free to contact Principal Jennifer Barton or Physical Education/Dance Teacher Tyler Crippen with questions.

Maria Mitchell is located at 1350 E. 33rd Ave. The school telephone number is 303-296-8412.
