Thomas Jefferson High School Spartans In 4a Basketball Finals Saturday, March 11
The Thomas Jefferson High School boys' basketball team defeated top-seeded Broomfield High School Thursday, 56-44, setting up a rematch with Harrison High School for the state championship.
The game against Harrison will be at 7 p.m. in the Coors Event Center in Boulder.
Last year, the Spartans earned their first state basketball championship since 1967. The Spartans go into the game with an 18-9 record; Harrison's record is 19-9.
The Spartans were led yesterday by David Holt (15 points), Pierre Allen (13 points), Ryan Atherton (9 points) and Ian Kane (9 points). The Spartans are coached by former Thomas Jefferson High School graduate Grant Laman.
