Month-Long Asbury Elementary Art Show "Swimming In The Sea Of Love" Starts Today; Opening Reception Is Friday, Feb. 3
Student artists from Asbury Elementary School will feature their projects this month at Kaladi's Coffee Shop, 1730 E. Evans Ave. Artwork showcases fish and heart prints, valentine cards, stuffed fish, fish magnets and a large, impressive mural. The art show kicks off today (Friday, Feb. 3) with an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at the coffee shop.
Student artwork is for sale all month ($1 cards and $6 prints) to benefit the international nonprofit organization Coffee Kids, which helps thousands of children, women, and men in coffee-producing regions in Mexico and Central America to improve the quality of their lives and build more sustainable communities. The group works with local non-governmental community organizations in Latin America to create education, health-care, training, and microenterprise programs for coffee farmers and their families.
