Middle School Honor Band And Orchestra Students To Perform In Citywide Concert On Saturday, Feb. 11

Over 140 select band and orchestra students from 11 Denver middle schools will perform at a 3 p.m. concert on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the former Cole Middle School site, 3240 Humboldt St.

More than 300 students auditioned to participate in these performing groups. Andy Holmes, orchestra teacher at Ranum High School, will conduct the Middle School Honor Orchestra. Salvatore Martorano, a retired teacher from the Denver area, will conduct the Middle School Honor Band.

These students rehearsed with their middle school teachers last Saturday and will participate in rehearsals with guest conductors in an all-day rehearsal today (Friday, Feb. 10). They will share the results of their ensemble work in an hour-long performance on Saturday afternoon.
