Maestro Jeffrey Kahane From Colorado Symphony Orchestra To Visit Barnum Elementary School - Tuesday, Jan. 10
At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 Maestro Jeffrey Kahane of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will visit Barnum Elementary School students (kindergarten through fifth grade) in the school's all-purpose room. (This visit was postponed from October.)
Kahane will conduct composition games with students, perform and discuss what students think about music. This presentation is done in conjunction with the CSO Education Department and CSO education director Nora Robinson.
Kahane is in his first year as director for the CSO. He also is music director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and artistic director of the Green Music Festival in Sonoma County, Calif. He has a strong belief in the potential of orchestras for inspiring young people and bringing communities together. While residing with the orchestra in Denver, he would like to take to opportunity to visit more of the elementary schools in Denver Public Schools.
