DPSRS Board Appoints John MacPherson Interim Director
At the regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 5, the Board of Trustees for the Denver Public Schools Retirement System (DPSRS) appointed John MacPherson as the Interim Executive Director effective January 1, 2006.
MacPherson currently is the Communications Director for the system. Prior to joining the staff at DPSRS in 2003, MacPherson was employed as a teacher and administrator in the Denver Public Schools for over 30 years. Beginning in 1989, MacPherson was elected to the Board of Trustees over a period of 14 years, serving as Chairman for nine years.
DPSRS currently is conducting a national search for a permanent Executive Director. MacPherson will serve as the Interim Executive Director until the permanent Executive Director is hired and in place. The Board of Trustees hopes to complete the search and hire a new Executive Director by the end of February 2006.
