Spaghetti Dinner And Free Concert At Skinner Middle School On Wednesday, Dec. 14 To Benefit Children In Need
The Philanthropy Club and beginning band students of Skinner Middle School have joined together to host a spaghetti dinner and free concert for the community on Wednesday, Dec. 14. A $5 donation for dinner is requested to benefit children in need during this holiday season.
Dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. During the dinner, guests will sample many of northwest Denver's spaghetti sauces. Participants at the event are Mikey's Italian Bistro, Gaetano's, Stella's, Pepsi, and the Denver Bread Company.
The free winter concert will occur briefly after dinner at 7 p.m. The concert will feature students performing a variety of music from simple folk songs and melodies, to classical and traditional themes as well as holiday carols.
The Philanthropy Club is an after-school club dedicated to helping those in need. This semester's spaghetti dinner is a fundraiser to give homeless children a gift this season. It also provides funds to help those students at the school whose families struggle during the holidays.
Skinner Middle School started this year off as an "integrated arts" school and began a new instrumental program. Almost all of the performers were introduced at the beginning of the school year to their musical instruments for the very first time.
Skinner Middle School is located at 3435 W. 40th Ave. The phone number is 720-424-1463.
