Board Of Education Meeting And Public Comment Session - Thursday, Dec. 15
The Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15; the monthly public comment session will follow at 6 p.m.
5 P.M. REGULAR MEETING
Tentative agenda highlights include:
- A report from the District School Improvement and Accountability Council on proposed 2006-2007 school year calendars board.dpsk12.org/siac/calendars.
- An update from Superintendent Michael Bennet on the draft of The Denver Plan.
- A report on the financial condition of the district.
- An update on the recently-released state School Accountability Reports.
- A motion to approve amendments to the agreements between Denver Public Schools and two employee associations - 1) Association of Building, Grounds and Warehouse Service Personnel and 2) Denver Association of Educational Office Professionals.
- A proposal for the new Montbello Village Place K-8 School to allow students to enroll via the Choice process (no school boundaries).
- A proposal for the new Green Valley Ranch Picadilly K-8 School to allow students in grades K-5 to enroll via defined boundaries and students in grades six through eight to enroll via the Choice process.
6 P.M. PUBLIC COMMENT SESSION
The Board holds public comment sessions to listen to comments about student achievement, budget policy or matters currently under consideration by the Board. Each speaker will have three minutes to speak, but groups of four or more people speaking on the same topic will have 10 minutes collectively. To sign up to speak, please call the Board Office at 720-423-3210 by 5 p.m. the day before the public comment session.
