Mckinley-Thatcher Elementary School Sings And Dances Out The Old Year On Thursday, Dec. 15 And Friday, Dec. 16

To celebrate the holidays, McKinley-Thatcher Elementary School students will share the gifts of song and dance with family, friends and community members.

From 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, fourth and fifth-grade students will present a musical concert. There will be songs by the combined fourth and fifth-grade choir, instrumental solos by students participating in the DPS Saturday Music Program, and a song performed by an ensemble of eight fifth-grade students who recently participated in the DPS All City Choir Concert at South High. A flute solo will be shared by Ms. Christmas Gainbrugh and there will be a guest appearance by a neighborhood pianist and teacher.

Beginning at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, students in all grades (K-5) will perform a variety of dances learned during lunchtime classes with "Miss Mikki" and physical education classes with Susan Richards. Following the dance performances, the students, staff and guests will gather in the school's all-purpose room for the annual sing-along of favorite Christmas songs led by McKinley-Thatcher's music teacher, Ms. Christmas Gainsbrugh, and Justin Adams, a talented jazz pianist and parent volunteer. Visitors are cordially invited to attend!
