Over 100 Students From Knight Academy After -School Program Perform "Winter Wonderland" Program Thursday, Dec. 15
Over 100 of Knight Academy after-school program students will perform their Winter Wonderland Program at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 at the Place Middle School auditorium.
The Knight Academy after-school program is an enrichment program featuring many different clubs such as: the drama club, cup stackers, the German club, the jump ropers and many others. These clubs welcome all grades in the school, from kindergarten to fifth grade.
For the winter program, all of these clubs have worked together since October to bring a very diverse performance to the open public. Attendants can expect to see any thing from singers and dancers, to skits and German language performances, holiday music, blues and jazz. The students are taking this opportunity not just to celebrate with holiday music, but to show off what they have learned this year.
Place Middle School is located at 7125 Cherry Creek North Drive. Admission to the performance is free and refreshments will be served afterwards.
The Knight Academy after-school program is funded through the Lights on After School grant from the Denver Public Schools Foundation.
The Denver Public Schools (DPS) Foundation is an independent, community-based organization that strives to create educational opportunities for the over 73,000 Denver Public Schools students.
The DPS Foundation, in partnership with Mile High United Way and the Mayor's Office for Education & Children, is committed to providing meaningful after-school programs for all DPS elementary and middle school students by supporting Lights on After School, a grant that DPS elementary and middle schools apply for each summer. In early September the partnership announced Lights on After School Grants totaling $658,000 to 89 DPS schools for the 2005-2006 school year.
Knight Academy is located at 3245 E. Exposition Ave. The phone number is 303-722-4681.
