News Conference Tuesday, Nov. 8 To Unveil Recommendations From Task Force On Early Childhood Education And School Readiness

The Denver Public Schools Task Force on Early Education and School Readiness will hold a news conference at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 to release its final report and announce recommendations. The news conference will be held at The Hope Center, 3400 Elizabeth St.

Presenters will include co-chairs Bruce Hoyt, member of the Denver Board of Education, and Helen Thorpe, education activist and freelance journalist. Superintendent Michael Bennet also will comment on the report's findings.

The 27-member task force, comprised of a broad variety of community and business organizations, has been studying Early Childhood Education issues for the past year.

The Hope Center, established in 1965, is a highly rated agency that offers child care and preschool to 225 students.

A note about photographs and video: Members of the media wishing to see a highly rated preschool in action are welcome to arrive at the Hope Center beginning at 10:30 a.m.; the morning session for students ends at 11:30 a.m., when the news conference will begin.
