Search Underway For DPS Foundation President / CEO
The Board of Directors of the Denver Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce that it has begun the search for a new President/CEO of the Foundation. The DPS Foundation is an independent, community-based organization that strives to create first-class educational opportunities for more than 73,000 students of Denver Public Schools.
The DPS foundation is seeking a committed, creative, highly professional President/CEO with proven leadership experience in managing nonprofit organizations, fundraising, program management, and supporting educational missions. The President/CEO helps establish the strategic direction of the foundation and develops effective policies and programs to support its mission and vision. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the President/CEO leads the DPS Foundation's short and long-term fundraising efforts and has responsibility for maintaining a strong relationship with DPS leaders and staff.
A seven member search committee has been drawn from the Board of Directors and is chaired by Linda Childears. Supporting the detailed work of the committee is a local human resources consulting firm, Peak HR Consulting, LLC, headed by Carolyn McCormick. The search committee is gathering information from interested candidates over the next month and intends to begin interviewing qualified applicants in early December. The goal is to have a new President/CEO in place by early spring 2006.
The DPS Foundation is the primary 'portal of philanthropy' in the Denver community for the benefit of the Denver Public Schools. Leading the foundation as it supports the vital work of the Denver Public School system will present an outstanding executive with an exciting, invigorating challenge. All candidates with vision, determination and commitment to apply for this unique leadership position are encouraged to do so.
Qualified professionals may send cover letter, resume and salary requirements to Carolyn McCormick with Peak HR at ctmccormick@comcast.net or call 303-388-5308; or contact Patricia Sterner with the DPS Foundation at 720-423-3535.
