Harrington Elementary School Students Get Free Books For Home On Wednesday, Nov. 30
Early Childhood Education (ECE) and first-grade students at Harrington Elementary School will receive books on Wednesday, Nov. 30 to start their own personal library at home. The books will be donated by Fast Forward to Literacy, a women's group from Parker, Colo. that has committed to donate books to every child in the school by the end of this school year.
From 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 each ECE through first-grade students in teacher Chip Wiman's classroom will receive 10 books from the seven board members of Fast Forward to Literacy. The books will come in backpacks that Wiman has donated. He also will provide breakfast burritos to those adults participating.
At Harrington Elementary School, over 97 percent of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Last year, Fast Forward to Literacy donated 10 books to each child at Maria Sandoval Elementary School. In 2006 and 2007, they will donate books to Mitchell K-8 School and Swansea Elementary School, and continue on to other schools in the years to come.
Harrington Elementary School is located at 2401 E. 37th Ave. The phone number is 303-333-4293.
