Board Of Education Meeting Agenda For Nov. 17; Superintendent Michael Bennet Will Present "The Denver Plan"

The Board of Education will hold a regular meeting and public comment session on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the administration building, 900 Grant St. Agenda highlights are below. Note the special start time of 4:30 p.m. (one half-hour earlier than normal).

The agenda includes Superintendent Michael Bennet's overview and presentation of "The Denver Plan," a detailed 70-page document that spells out steps for Denver Public Schools to "lead the nation's cities in student achievement."

Prior the meeting, the Board of Education will host a reception for incoming members Jill Conrad and Jeanne Kaplan, newly re-elected Board members Kevin Patterson and Michelle Moss, and outgoing Board President Les Woodward. Outgoing Board member Elaine Gantz Berman will be out of state presenting the district's teacher pay reform plan, ProComp, and will be unable to attend.

The reception is open to the public and will be held from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the lobby of the administration building at 900 Grant St.

6 P.M. PUBLIC COMMENT SESSION

The Board holds public comment sessions to listen to comments about student achievement, budget policy or matters currently under consideration by the Board. Each speaker will have three minutes to speak, but groups of four or more people speaking on the same topic will have 10 minutes collectively. To sign up to speak, please call the Board Office at 720-423-3210 by 5 p.m. the day before the public comment session.
