Board Of Education Work Session Today (Monday, Nov. 14)

The Board of Education will hold a work session at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 (today) in Room 706 of the district's administration building, 900 Grant St.

The Board will review the agenda items for the Nov. 17 meeting, discuss budget planning principles for the 2006-2007 school year, hear a presentation of the audit report and consider school year calendar recommendations from the District School Improvement and Accountability Committee. The Board also will meet in a closed executive session to discuss negotiations.

At 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 the Board of Education will hold a regular meeting followed by the monthly public comment session at 6 p.m.

Among the tentative agenda items for Thursday, Nov. 17 are approving the results of the Nov. 1, 2005 election and administering the oath of office for new and re-elected members of the Board of Education.

The Board holds public comment sessions to listen to comments about student achievement, budget policy or matters currently under consideration by the Board. Each speaker will have three minutes to speak, but groups of four or more people speaking on the same topic will have 10 minutes collectively.
