The Joint Advisory Council provides a common forum for councils endorsed by the Denver Board of Education. It works to strengthen and support the role of parents as active participants in their children's achievement, serves as a resource that the Superintendent and Board may call upon in defining and addressing specific district needs, and serves as an advocate for equity in the needs of all children across the district.
The Hispanic Education Advisory Council was organized on Sept. 10, 1969, with the mission of ensuring excellence in education for Hispanic students and the community by assisting the Board of Education and the Superintendent in understanding and addressing the issues of Hispanic students. HEAC is committed to working with and serving the Hispanic community and all DPS students, in particular, Hispanic students.
