Board Of Education Meeting Agendas For Sept. 12 And 15
The Board of Education will hold a work session on Monday, Sept. 12 and a regular meeting and public comment session on Thursday, Sept. 15. Agenda highlights follow:
4:30-6:30 P.M. WORK SESSION MONDAY, SEPT. 12
- Review Sept. 15 Board meeting agenda
- District School Improvement Accountability Council recommendations on the 2004-2005 School Improvement Plans
- Discussion of upcoming reports to the Board
- Briefing on DPS Retirement System merger with Public Employee Retirement Association
- Executive session - Legal (closed)
4:30 P.M. REGULAR MEETING THURSDAY, SEPT. 15
- Report from the Citizens Committee on Bond Expenditures
- Charter school presentations (CP Charter School; West Denver Preparatory Charter School; 21st Century Charter School at Baker; and Global Village Academy)
- Approve Carl D. Perkins Grant ($947,000)
- Memorandum of Understanding between Denver Public Schools and Vocational Teachers' Federation
- Agreement with Children's Museum for use of Children's Museum Drive and the future school site in the Central Platte Valley
- A series of policy changes governing Board policy adoption procedures will be introduced
6 P.M. PUBLIC COMMENT SESSION THURSDAY, SEPT. 15
The Board holds public comment sessions to listen to comments about student achievement, budget policy or matters currently under consideration by the Board. Each speaker will have three minutes to speak, but groups of four or more people speaking on the same topic will have 10 minutes collectively. To sign up to speak, please call the Board Office at 720-423-3210 by 5 p.m. the day before the public comment session.
