18th Annual Uptown Sampler To Benefit Wyman Elementary School
Wyman Elementary School is one of two beneficiaries of the 18th annual Uptown Sampler - a tour of Uptown's restaurants and historical bed and breakfasts from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13.
The Uptown Sampler is a self-directed tour of Uptown's favorite restaurants. Samples of Denver's most mouthwatering menus from popular neighborhood cafes to gourmet fine dining will be featured. Wine tasting, live entertainment and drink specials will be offered along the way. Desserts and dancing will be offered from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at Post Properties.
Advance tickets are $20 and are available online at www.uptownonthehill.org, the Cone Zone, Above the Rim, Ceramics in the Park, all metro King Soopers and TicketsWest outlets. Half of the proceeds will be donated to Wyman Elementary School to help accommodate general needs of the school, and the other half will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
Uptown on the Hill is the area bounded by Broadway and York, and Colfax and 23rd avenues. During the late 1800s, the neighborhood's architecture was among Denver's most fashionable. Today, much of its impressive collection of single and multifamily structures remains as beautifully restored homes, offices, restaurant, and entertainment facilities.
Buses will run about every 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic. Attendees can start at any of these restaurants: Avenue Grill; Las Margaritas; Painted Bench; Randolph's; Milagro; Strings; or Tavern Uptown.
For a list of participating restaurants, access www.uptownonthehill.org.
Wyman Elementary School is located at 1690 Williams St. The phone number is 303-320-1632.
