Colorado Rockies Mascot Dinger To Be Special Guest At Lowry Elementary School's Spirit Day Celebration On Official Student Count Day - Sept. 30
Colorado Rockies mascot Dinger will join the "Spirit Day" festivities from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30 at Lowry Elementary School.
The school is celebrating "Spirit Day" to encourage student attendance on the state's official student enrollment count day. (Colorado public school districts are funded by the state based on annual Oct. 1 student enrollment counts. In Denver, funding per pupil is approximately $6,600.)
Students will dress in Rockies colors and learn about the character education program that promotes core values in all phases of school life and includes proactive strategies and practices that help children not only understand core, ethical values, but also care about and act upon them. Universal values stressed in character education include respect, responsibility, citizenship, caring and honesty.

Students who are in attendance on "Spirit Day" will have their names included in a drawing for prizes such as a Razor Scooter and a Tim Buk Toys gift certificate.
