Valverde 9th Annual Community Walk Is Saturday, Sept. 17
On Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon, teachers and staff members from Valverde Elementary School will be taking part in the school's 9th annual Community Walk.
Teachers, paraprofessionals, secretaries and the principal will lace up their walking shoes and knock on every child's door to make a personal contact with Valverde students and their parents.
"Our goal is to get to know our students and parents better and begin to build that essential relationship needed to increase student achievement," said Valverde principal Ardell Rivera-Francis.
Each student will receive a bag of school supplies and books that students can use at home for homework. Best Buy and Target Stores donated supplies and books for the Community Walk.
