International PEACE4KIDS/ A.R.T Conference June 16-17

The Center for Safe Schools and Communities is sponsoring the International Conference featuring creative applications for the PEACE4KIDS/A.R.T. program on Thursday and Friday, June 16-17 in Northglenn.

The program helps students become socially and academically successful. The A.R.T. (Aggression Replacement Training) program focuses on learning how to help students prevent violence and rehabilitate students who already are exhibiting aggression. The conference will include speakers from the United States, Canada and Sweden with lessons in empathy, anger control, social skills and character education.

The conference includes Stan Scheer, Superintendent of Littleton Public Schools; Bob Anderson, Director of Prevention & Intervention Initiatives for Denver Public Schools; Patricia Slaughter, principal of Rachel B. Noel Middle School; David Casiano, Mayor of Parker; and Rune Nensen from Sweden.

The conference will be held at the Ramada Plaza, 10 E. 120th Ave., Northglenn.
