Physical Education And Dance Summer Institute For Physical Education Teachers Is June 15-17

Denver Public Schools will host the Physical Education and Dance Summer Institute's third annual workshop Wednesday, June 15 through Friday, June 17 at Metropolitan State College of Denver in downtown Denver.

Approximately 150 teachers are expected to attend this year's workshop, with five nationally-recognized teachers giving presentations. All five teachers are National Teachers of the Year as recognized by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education.

The workshop is designed to keep physical education and dance teachers informed on topics ranging from innovative ideas and methods of teaching to the latest research and methods of fitness training.

The workshop, open to educators from all Colorado school districts, is sponsored by Sportime International, a physical education catalog retailer.

Workshop presenters are Cindy Hoben, 2004 National Dance Educator of the year; Richard Burke, Jr., 2004 Adaptive Physical Education Teacher of the Year; Jim Roberts 1999 National Association for Sport and Physical Education Elementary Teacher of the year; John Hichwa 1993 NASPE Middle School Teacher of the Year; and Carol Martini, 2002 NASPE High School Teacher of the Year.
