Sasha Hoskie and John Compton are the scheduled speakers for the ceremony, and the Denver Singers will sing the Prayer Song and Honor Song. David M. Redhorse will emcee the event, and Phyllis Bigpond offer the opening and closing prayers. Gloria Tallbull and Verla Howell will present the graduates' star quilts.

The Indian Education Program provides services designed to help students achieve and be successful in Denver Public Schools. The American Indian Focus Schools Program is a partnership between DPS and the American Indian community for the purpose of improving the education of all children.

The program centralizes the enrollment of American Indian students in two high schools (East High School and the CEC Middle College of Denver), two middle school (Hamilton and Merrill) and three elementary schools (Brown, College View, and Wyman). In centralizing the enrollment, the program: decreases students' feelings of isolation; increases parental involvement; increases the feeling of student ownership in the educational process; increases achievement and literacy levels; and improves the delivery of services for students.
