4th Annual DSA Jackson Pollack Art And Music Festival May 14

The Denver School of the Arts (DSA) Orchestra student musicians and artists will showcase their talents in the spirit of the abstract expressionist artist, Jackson Pollack, at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at the school.

Delight in "avante-garde" orchestral, jazz, rap, mariachi, ethnic and country music performances. Acts include modern dance compositions, unique art shows and creative writing collections. Also featured are food, art and educational booths in the outdoor commons area at the Denver School of the Arts campus in northeast Denver at the corner of Montview Blvd. and Quebec St. In the event of rain, the festival will be held indoors at DSA.

Denver School of the Arts (middle and high school) was founded as a DPS magnet school in 1991 and currently celebrates success and growth at the newly-renovated building in the former Houston Fine Arts Complex. With a student population at 850, talented sixth through twelfth graders study and practice in one of eight arts disciplines along with integrating full academic instruction. DSA boasts excellent academic performance, and many DSA graduates attend prestigious universities, arts institutes or conservatories. DSA presents quality musical, performance and visual arts programs throughout the year and proudly continues the unique tradition of the Jackson Pollack Festival in May.
