Polaris At Ebert One Of Six Colorado Schools Recognized May 11 For Achievements In Arts And Academics, One Of Five To Compete For "Creative Ticket" Award
The Colorado Alliance for Arts Education has named the Polaris at Ebert one of six recipients of the 2005 Schools of Excellence Award - the only statewide award that recognizes schools for achievements in arts and academics.
All winning schools will be recognized at an awards event from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. The event will be hosted by internationally renowned jazz great, and Denver native, Dianne Reeves.
Through this award, the Colorado Alliance for Arts Education recognizes schools that exemplify excellence in arts education and demonstrate the arts are an essential part of education. The awards recognize teachers, schools and programs that successfully use imaginative learning environments, parental involvement, cultural diversity and community connections to offer students educational experiences beyond the classroom. Schools must be nominated for this award.
Polaris also is one of five schools nominated by the Colorado Alliance for Arts Education to compete nationally for the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network (KCAAEN) "Creative Ticket-National Schools of Distinction" award. The school previously earned the award in 2002.
The "Creative Ticket - Schools of Excellence" awards, conducted in partnership with Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, are designed to recognize teachers, schools, and programs that have successfully used imaginative learning environments, parental involvement, cultural diversity and community connections to offer students educational experiences beyond the classroom.
