Students From Steele And Steck Elementary Schools, Denver School Of The Arts Honored April 17 At Tattered Cover Young Poets' Award Reception And Reading
Nine Denver students are winners of the Tattered Cover Book Store's 13th Annual Young Poets' Writing Challenge. They will read their poems at a 2 p.m. reception on Sunday, April 17 at the store's Cherry Creek location.
In the first and second grade category, Steele Elementary School's Oliver Leckenby will read "Poem" and Anna Theilen will read "Birds on Velvet Wings."
Representing the third and fourth grade category will be Clarke Shupe Diggs from Steck Elementary School. He will read "Noise."
In the fifth and sixth grade category, Dani Burke of the Denver School of the Arts will read "River."
Also from Denver School of the Arts are ninth and tenth grade winners Daria Reaven ("Homeless God"), Sam Martin ("Drenched") and Kate Conger ("Don't Stop If I Fall"). In the eleventh and twelfth grade category from Denver School of the Arts are Tyler Marcel Pullens ("Untitled") and Ananda Garcia ("Namesake").
