Thomas Jefferson High School Boys Win 4A Basketball Championship
The Thomas Jefferson High School Spartans defeated Harrison High School Saturday night (March 12) at the Coors Event Center in Boulder to win the state 4A Boys Basketball Championship.
The final score was 55-43 behind junior Pierre Allen, who scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 10 shots.
"He was the difference," Thomas Jefferson coach Grant Laman told the Rocky Mountain News. "He wanted this too bad. What he did in this tournament was just phenomenal." Overall, Allen scored 129 points in five tournament games.
Ben Sprague scored 11 and Dakota Nahm had 8 points in the victory. The win was Thomas Jefferson's first state championship in boys basketball since 1967.
