Montbello High School "Lessons Learned" Focus Of February Edition Of "DPS Today"

The February 2005 edition of "DPS Today," the monthly television show about Denver Public Schools on Denver cable 8, explores the lessons learned through the tragic encounter between two students in early January at Montbello High School. In a fight in the school cafeteria, one student lost his life and a second student was arrested and faces prosecution.

The show also includes a videotape report by co-host Anna Alejo, who took an extended look inside the school in her role as an education reporter for CBS-4.

The show will begin airing Tuesday, Feb. 1 on Denver 8 cable. The show can be seen every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8 a.m. and every Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. throughout the month.

Denver stations 22 and 48 also re-broadcast "DPS Today." Channel 22 is the DPS channel on Comcast cable in Denver. Channel 48 is an ITFS microwave channel that is received only within all DPS facilities and delivered on cable channel 48 in the each classroom. On Sundays, the show for the current month airs at 4 p.m. on channels 22 and 48, followed by a screening of the show from the previous month at 4:30 p.m. On Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. and on Thursdays at 4:30 p.m., the current show also airs.
