"Dance - A Universal Language" - Special Performance By Cory Elementary Students Feb. 3 And 4
Third, fourth and fifth grade students at Cory Elementary School have been working with professional dancer Ricki Harada as part of their arts program. Mr. Harada recently performed the role of the nutcracker in the Nutcracker Suite with Cleo Parker Robinson and also has worked with students at Brown Elementary School.
The Cory students will showcase what they've learned under Mr. Harada's direction in a performance at the Merrill Middle School auditorium (1551 South Monroe St.) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 and 9:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4.
The performances will include hip hop, Japanese and classical dance. Fifth grade students are creating masks and fans for the Japanese dance.
