Abraham Lincoln High School To Host I-Safe - America Professional Development Program For Educators And Law Enforcement Professionals On Nov. 20 And Dec. 4
All Denver educators and law enforcement professionals are invited to attend the free i-SAFE America Professional Development Program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 or Saturday, Dec. 4 at Abraham Lincoln High School (2285 S. Federal Blvd.). Interested parties should attend only one session.
The program will encourage educators and law enforcement professionals to work collaboratively to protect Denver's youth through Internet safety education, youth empowerment and community outreach.
Participation in the i-SAFE Professional Development Program will prepare educators and law enforcement professionals to:
- Educate students on Internet safety concepts and practices
- Expand the program in their school district or agency by conducting in-house i-SAFE Professional Development Programs
- Discuss the need for Internet safety with parents and community leaders and provide them with practical safety tips.
i-SAFE America is a non-profit foundation. Its mission is to educate students to safely and responsibly take control of their Internet experience. The i-SAFE program provides the awareness and knowledge necessary to show students how to recognize and avoid dangerous, destructive and unlawful online behavior.
The grant for the i-SAFE program is managed by a cooperative agreement with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Office of Justice Programs and the U.S. Department of Justice.
