DPS Students To Attend Construction Career Days Wednesday, Oct. 6

One hundred eighty four students from DPS high schools along with high school students from other area school districts will be attending Construction Career Days Wednesday, Oct 6. The event will run two days (Oct. 6 and 7) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sponsored by local representatives and professionals in the construction industry, Construction Career Days will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Event Center. Students will participate in hands-on activities related to all aspects of the construction industry and can visit with industry personnel to learn more about opportunities in the industry.

Construction Career Days will feature 27 pieces of heavy equipment enabling the students to get a close-up look and try their hand at some very basic manipulation. Lunch will be provided and there will be door prizes for the students. Students will be issued hard hats when they arrive and will able to keep them at the end of the event.
