Power Outage Closes Three Northwest Denver High Schools Today
Three high schools in northwest Denver dismissed classes this morning for the remainder of the day due to a power outage in the area:
- CEC Middle College of Denver, 2650 Eliot St., 720-423-6600
- Contemporary Learning Academy (CLA), 2211 W. 27th Ave., 303-964-2960
- North High School, 2960 N. Speer Blvd., 303-964-2700
Electricity and telephone service to the three high schools and also to Valdez Elementary School, 2525 W. 29th Ave., 303-433-2581, was expected to be restored today at noon but instead was restored at approximately 10:30 a.m. Classes will continue through the remainder of the day at Valdez Elementary School.
Transportation:
If high school students ride a DPS yellow bus to school, buses returned students home early today. Special needs students who ride DPS yellow buses will not be returned home until parents/guardians have been notified.
