Fall Festivities In Schools Begin This Week

Edison Elementary School
Edison Elementary School will host its first fall festival at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 immediately following the 3 p.m. dedication for the new Learning Landscape. Festival events include live music, food, games, haunted classroom, a cakewalk, pie tosses at pumpkins painted to look like three teachers and the principal and a pumpkin patch. Pioneer Charter School Literacy Celebration
Pioneer Charter School will host a literacy celebration on Friday, Oct. 29. The event will include a 9:30 a.m. parade for Early Childhood Education (ECE) students and a school-wide costume parade at 1:35 p.m. followed by a special Halloween reading lesson and classroom activities. Prior to the parade, parents will meet in the auditorium at 1:15 p.m. to receive helpful reading tips (ECE parents will meet at 9:15 a.m.). Baker Middle School Scarecrow Festival
Baker Middle School will celebrate its first-ever scarecrow festival from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. The school extends its invitation to community members and to the general public. Costumes are encouraged but not required. The festival offers entertainment, food booths, game booths, horse drawn hayrides, sumo wrestling, jump sports arena and performing groups. Tickets are 25 cents and can be used for games and food. Enter the costume contest and the scarecrow making contest for great prizes. Get your hair dyed, apply temporary tattoos and visit with officers from the police and fire departments to look inside an ambulance. Polaris Program At Ebert Halloween Parade
Students in the Polaris program at Ebert will showcase their creative costumes during a Halloween parade around the playground at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. Parties will follow in classrooms.
