CEC Middle College Of Denver To Host Annual Open House Tuesday, Nov. 9
The Career Education Center (CEC) Middle College of Denver will hold its annual Open House from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 2650 Eliot St. The event will enable parents and students to visit the school's pre-professional programs.
The Open House will feature the CEC students' Citywide Jazz Ensemble, a sampling of student culinary arts creations and student demonstrations throughout the building.
The CEC Middle College of Denver is an exciting tuition-free magnet school at West 26th Ave. and Eliot St. Students spend half of their day in rigorous academic classes and half in one of 21 pre-professional career programs. Courses are taught by industry-experienced teachers with state-of-the-art equipment.
Students prepare to take college classes as early as their junior year. This enables them to graduate from high school in four years with one year of college credit at no cost to the student. They then have the experience and knowledge to complete their associates' degree in one year or transfer to a university for a bachelor's degree.
Career classes include: architecture technology; athletic training/sports medicine; audio engineering; automotive technology; automotive body repair and painting; business management; commercial art/computer graphics; construction technology; culinary arts; digital film production; early childhood and/elementary education careers; executive internship; fashion design and clothing careers; fire science; fitness trainer; medical careers; photography; police science/criminal justice; teacher cadet; and welding.
