Barnes And Noble To Host Columbian Elementary School's Literacy Family Night On Tuesday, Oct. 26

Columbian Elementary School will hold its Second Annual Literacy Family Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26 at the Barnes and Noble bookstore at 14347 W. Colfax Ave. This event is open to the public and participants are encouraged to wear costumes.

The event was planned in effort to raise funds for the school and to attract parent participation. Parents and students will pass out coupons at the entrance of the bookstore that customers can present at the time of purchase. The school will in turn receive a percentage of all sales at the store between 4 and 7 p.m.

"This event was really successful last year and we are hoping that it will be equally successfully, if not more so, this year," said Beverly Winters, principal.

Distinct class performances will be ongoing between 5 and 7 p.m. and refreshments and coffee will be served throughout the night.

For those who have transportation limitations or who simply prefer not to drive, the school will provide buses that will leave Columbian at 4:30 p.m. and will return from Barnes and Noble at 7 p.m.

Columbian Elementary school is located at 2925 W. 40th Ave. For more information, contact the school at 303-433-2539.
