Largest Single Gathering Of Colorado Authors To Feature More Than 250 Authors At "Read, Colorado!" Saturday, Nov. 6 At Invesco Field

More than 250 Colorado authors will sign and sell their books at "Read, Colorado!" on Saturday, Nov. 6 at INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium. This free event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the West Club Lounge.

Authors of children's books, young adult, adult fiction, poetry, fantasy, romance, science fiction, and a range of nonfiction from cookbooks and photography to history, self-improvement, how-to, business, sports and spiritual works will be in attendance.

The event will also include celebrity readers including Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper; broadcasters Ernie Bjorkman, Ed Greene, Tom Green; journalists Simone Seikaly, Tina Griego and Patti Thorn; Denver Public Library's head librarian Rick Ashton; and former Denver Broncos Rich Karlis, Karl Mecklenburg, and Steve Sewell.

Among the 250 authors will be Margaret Coel ("Wife of Moon," "Killing Raven"), John Dunning ("The Bookman's Promise"), John Fielder ("Mountain Ranges of Colorado"), Kent Haruf ("Plainsong" and "Eventide"), Stephanie Kane ("Seeds of Doubt," "Extreme Indifference"), Tom Noel ("Colorado: A Liquid History and Tavern Guide to the Highest State"), Mark Obmascik ("The Big Year"), and Susan Skog ("Peace in Our Lifetime: Insights from the World's Peacemakers").

There will also be author panels, and kids' activities such as story time and "make your own bookmark." Limited free tours of INVESCO Field will also be available.

Free parking is available in lots J and C and free admission is through Gate 2. Parking and the entry gate are both located on the west side of INVESCO Field. "This is being designed as a fun day for the whole family - for book people and for all readers, young and old alike," said Sally Kurtzman, one of two principal organizers of the event.
