Denver Public Schools' Pupil Assistance Fund To Receive $10,000 Grant From The Denver Foundation
The Denver Foundation has approved a grant of $10,000 for the DPS Pupil Assistance Fund (PAF) for the 2004-2005 school year. The PAF will use the grant dollars to provide emergency assistance for such items as eyeglasses, coats and medicated shampoo to students from low-income families.
The Denver Foundation Board of Trustees approved the PAF grant because of the PAF's sixty years of service in helping to meet the basic needs of low-income district students. In addition, the Denver Foundation encourages all board members to make personal contributions to the PAF as tangible proof of the board's commitment to the organization.

About The Pupil Assistance Fund
The mission of the Pupil Assistance Fund is to help facilitate the mission of the Denver Public Schools by providing medical and clothing assistance to Denver Public Schools pupils from low-income families. Thanks to the PAF, last year 315 students obtained eye examinations and/or eyeglasses, 236 students received new school clothing, 752 students received winter coats, 725 families received vouchers for ARC Thrift Stores, 200 families received bus tokens, 3,000 students received toothbrushes and 600 students received medicated shampoo. Dedicated volunteers and the partnership with Denver Public Schools allows PAF to utilize every dollar it raises to provide goods and services to children in need
