Math Is The Focus Of Columbian Elementary School Family Night Thursday, Sept. 2
Columbian Elementary School will host the first of four Family Nights for the 2004-2005 school year from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2.
The theme this month is math. Teachers will be presenting, by grade level, some of the Everyday Math games that parents can use at home with their students.
After the games demonstrations, dinner will be served to all families in the cafeteria. There will also be several "estimation jars" for parents and students to try and win prizes by guessing how many gummy bears are in each jar.
Everyday Math is a rigorous Pre-K-6 curriculum used across the country. The research has proven to build students' math knowledge from the basics to higher order thinking and problem solving. This is the second year Columbian Elementary School has implemented Everyday Math as the primary math curriculum.
Columbian Elementary School is located at 2925 W. 40th Ave. The school's telephone number is 303-433-2539.
