One Night Only: "Zoot Suit Riots" At The Buell Theatre Saturday, Aug. 21

If you missed the original run or the return engagement of the student production of "The Zoot Suit Riots" last spring at North High School, you now have one more chance to see this compelling musical.

On Saturday, Aug. 21 "The Zoot Suit Riots" will be performed in the Buell Theatre at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Denver. The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15, $20 and $30.

The production played to packed houses and drew considerable praise. The North Denver Tribune said the production was "wonderful" and featured" lead actors and "impeccable" music. The excitement generated by the show - and the colorful costumes - drew the attention of fashion writers from the New York Times.

The play is directed by Jose Mercado, with set designs by Carlos Fresquez and Fawn Atencio. In addition to North High School students in lead roles, the production features guest artists Yolanda Ortega Ericksen and Manuel Roybal.

Tickets are available through www.TicketsWest.com, 1-800-325-SEAT and area King Soopers or by calling 866-464-2626.
