Smedley Elementary School Celebrates Jump In CSAP Scores With School-wide Pizza Party Friday, Aug. 13

Smedley Elementary School students, staff and families are hosting a school-wide pizza party at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13 to celebrate the schools improved CSAP test scores - some jumped by 13, 25 and 39 points over last year's scores.

Smedley's scores on six recently-released Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) tests jumped between 6 and 39 points over last year's scores. Most notably, 58 percent of fifth-graders scored advanced/proficient in math (up 39 points) and 47 percent of fifth-graders scored advanced/proficient in reading.

Mrs. Marlene Rose from the Denver office of Security Title Guaranty and a member of the Colorado Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, is graciously donating the 800 slices of pizza for the event.

Smedley Elementary School is one of Denver's 19 continuous year schools that started the school year on Monday, July 26.
