Leslie Anderson of East High School and Erin Osterhaus of George Washington High School have each been awarded Fulbright teacher grants to teach abroad during the 2004-2005 academic year.
Anderson, a foreign language teacher in DPS since 1996, will travel to Argentina. Prior to teaching in Colorado, she spent three years teaching in the Peace Corps - two years in a Moroccan high school and one year in Malaysia.
Osterhaus, an English teacher from California, has been teaching at George Washington High School since 2002. She will travel to Poland.
The Fulbright Program’s goal is to increase mutual understanding between Americans and the rest of the world. It is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Since its inception, this program has exchanged over a quarter of a million people in over 150 countries worldwide.
