Elementary, middle and high school students who are new to Denver Public Schools may register for the new school year beginning Monday, June 21 through Friday, July 30 at one of the four area superintendent offices or the DPS Welcome Center just outside downtown Denver.
Through Friday, July 2, parents can register their children weekday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon at three of the four area offices (the southeast area office is closed through Friday, July 2). Also parents can register their children from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. on weekdays at the Welcome Center in the district’s central administration building.
From Tuesday, July 6 through Friday, July 30, all four area superintendent offices will register students in the mornings from 9 a.m. to noon, and the Welcome Center will register students only in the afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m.
Parents wishing to register students for Early Childhood Education (for four-year-olds) may complete registration and financial qualification paperwork at the area superintendent o offices or Welcome Center this summer and confirm registration at elementary schools the first week of August.
Middle and high schools will offer walk-in registration on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 9 and 10.

The first day of school (traditional calendar) is Monday, August 16 for all elementary students and sixth- and ninth-grade students and Tuesday, August 17 for all other secondary students.
The first day of school for 19 elementary schools on a continuous year calendar is Monday, July 26 (Amesse, Barrett, Bryant-Webster, Cheltenham, Colfax, Columbian, Del Pueblo, Eagleton, Fairmont, Ford, Harrington, Johnson, Maxwell, McGlone, Mitchell, Smedley, Smith, Valdez and Wyman elementary schools).
Choice Applications - for parents and students wishing to attend a school outside their neighborhood school boundary on a space-available basis - will be available in all four area superintendent offices.
Transportation Exception Forms, which allow students to ride on existing bus routes on a space-available basis, will be available in all four area superintendent offices and at the Welcome Center in the administration building.
